The Lilly Wild Guide To

Lilly Wild Christmas

The Christmas tree is standing majestically dripped in Christmas lights. You’ve nearly wrapped all your Christmas presents in a bow. Your party dress - I mean your hiking boots - are clean and waiting to be worn on a crisp frosty morning. Your Christmas cake is baking to perfection in the oven. Mrs Claus has nothing on you. Now it's your time. You’ve got mulled wine in one hand and a mince pie in the other.

You've cooked, wrapped and adventured. And now, the sofa is waiting for you. We’ve all got festive films that become tradition at this time of year to watch over and over again.. here are some of our family favourites…

Harry Potter

We all love Harry Potter because it transports us into a wonderful spell-bounding world of magic. Where you can transform into animals, whizz around on a broomstick, make anything levitate and live in a castle. For many watching Harry Potter brings back memories, for others it’s a blissful couple of hours where you can relax as your kids are captivated. So pop some popcorn, pour yourself a glass of eggnog and put your feet up.

The Lord of the Rings

Everyone knows that the only way to really watch the Lord of the Rings is by watching them in a marathon. Some may like to go a step further and watch the extended editions and also the supplementary features to with it. This means you’ll need a solid seven to eight hours of time to have the ultimate experience. And what other time is there to do that then when you’re chilling at your parents’ house and suffering from over-indulgence?

Home Alone

This film is always playing around Christmas time and after you’ve been for a wintery run, there’s nothing better than slicing yourself a chunk of Christmas cake and settling into one of the best holiday films. After all, you deserve it, you went the distance!

We all love a bit of Will Ferrel and Christmas is the perfect excuse to watch a silly film and laugh a lot! This will bring tears of laughter to all members of your family. But you might need to turn up the volume for Grandma!

James Bond

Each family member will have a favourite James Bond - we battle it out between Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery. But there’s really no competition, how could you say no to Daniel Craig when he walks out the of ocean in Casino Royale?! Spectre was a great edition last year and this Christmas we’ll be hunkering down with Christmas treats and a bit of Daniel Craig!

We’re also getting really excited for…

Disney’s new film Moana!

An adventurous women on a ancient quest to save her people and along the way discovers her true self! It also has The Rock in it, who we love here at Lilly Wild!

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

We know this has been out a while, but we haven’t had a chance to go see it! Maybe we’ll get a chance one winter’s day! We’re big fans of Harry Potter and having watched the trailer, we’re just itching to go and see it!

We lay out cookies, milk and a glass of sherry for Santa. And yes we’re all grown up! One year my mum even put big sooty boot prints on the carpet to make it look like Santa had come. She had us all fooled!
