We think you’re never too old to believe in Christmas Magic and Christmas Eve is a time when you can really feel Santa’s (aka Father Christmas’) magic in the air, perhaps the hair on your back of your neck prickles or you feel a tingly sensation flowing through your body. If you’ve been good all year, then he’s guaranteed to visit, but it’s worth enticing him down your chimney with a few treats!
1. Keep a hazard free tripping area around the fire and Christmas Tree
We would hate for Santa to trip and he doesn’t want to wake us up!
2. Hang Your Christmas stockings
Santa loves stockings and fills them with lots of treats and fun sized gifts. Stockings don’t just have to be hung around the fireplace, but at the back of your beds or kitchen chairs too, amongst other places.
And don’t worry, Santa will know exactly where to find your stockings with his Christmas magic :)
3. Set out mince pies for Santa
Sliding down millions of chimneys and delivering presents to all the good boys and girls around the world in one night can be hard work.
Santa Claus needs to keep his energy up, so leave out a few mince pies by the fireplace to give him that energy burst he needs, to make it round the rest of the homes on Christmas eve!
We think Jamie Oliver’s mince pies are yummmy!
4. Leave a glass of sherry
It can be thirsty work too, so a small glass of sherry wouldn’t go a miss! Santa will be very grateful for this drink on a cold winter’s night!
5. Leave a snack for his reindeer
And don’t forget Santa’s magical reindeer who fly around all of the houses pulling Santa and his sleigh! We’ve heard Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph love to much on carrots and apples!
6. Track Santa!
On Christmas Eve, before you go to bed you can track Santa and see which country he’s delivering presents to!
7. Go to bed
Whatever you do, you must make sure that you’re all nestled and snug in bed and that all through the house, not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse.
For Santa will only visit your house if you are asleep, and don’t think you can outsmart him, his Christmas magic can tell if you’re just pretending!
